Jarrett Lipman will kick-off his campaign on Sunday January 15th, 2023 at 5:30 pm for the San Antonio City Council District 9 seat. With 15 years of serving the community as a Band Director at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School, he recently completed a Masters Degree in Public Administration, with a Certificate in Urban & Regional Planning. Jarrett also managed a nationally recognized band program at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School and currently runs Bandworx LLC, which specializes in instructional coaching and consulting for music programs around the nation. He is single and age 37.
Lipman brings to the seat youth and vitality, and his focus will be strong community relationships and problem-solving. “We build District 9 best from our youth on up, because today’s youth is tomorrow’s future for District 9.”
Lipman was extremely supportive of and an active voice in the reopening of schools for in-person learning in 2020, and was on the front lines every day for in-person instruction. “I strive to set an example to the youth I work with, and will be that example of hard work with a high standard of excellence to the residents of District 9.”
Lipman is running to shake up the status quo, and provide a fresh voice and a fresh start for District 9 citizens. Lipman has listened to the concerns of his neighbors and has crafted a 9-point plan to improve safety and infrastructure, keeping public safety as a number one priority. He will fight to keep our police well-funded to protect businesses and neighborhoods from crime, and protect the well-being of our children and seniors.
“District 9 can no longer afford to be partners in overly progressive priorities that use our tax dollars and take advantage of our compassion towards projects that do not build a future for all citizens. My pledge to District 9 will be to serve all residents with the highest level of service. I don’t have all the answers – but I know one thing for sure: the only thing scarier than change is staying the same.”
