ABOUT JARRETT

Jarrett is driven to serve. For 15 years, he served students and families as the high school band director at Johnson High School. Now, he wants to serve as your representative on San Antonio’s city council. He believes there’s a bigger vision for what our community can be and wants to help the city reach its full potential.

  • Small business owner and energetic leader, educator, mentor, and problem-solver
  • Award-winning band director at Johnson H.S., managing and instructing over 300 students, and instilling the values of hard work, community service, and love of country
  • Actively involved with the re-opening of school in August of 2020 after COVID-19, working every day, in-person, to keep students safe and to support the voices of parents who wanted to see schools reopen for in-person learning as soon as possible
  • Part-Time Lecturer in Music Education at Texas State University
  • Earned a Master’s in Public Administration with a Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning from UTSA in 2022
  • One of 30 music educators nationwide to receive the Music Teachers of Excellence award from the Country Music Association (CMA) Foundation in 2022
  • Regularly volunteers at the San Antonio Food Bank to help fight hunger in San Antonio and the surrounding communities
  • Volunteers with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build and assemble bunk beds for children in need who don’t have a bed to sleep in
  • Named an H-E-B Outstanding Educator Finalist (one of five statewide) in 2016
